Or a combination such as the Piedmont wine region in Italy with its Nebbiolo, Barbaresco and Barolo grape varieties.

Wine tasting: it may seem easy, but it does take some practice. During the Taste Wine course you will gain insight into the basic techniques of wine tasting in one evening. You will learn to distinguish and name the color, smell and taste of some grape varieties. More information and registration via the Wine Institute.

The two-part Wine Vignette course is a good stepping stone for people who want to know more about wine, but do not want to take an extensive wine course. On these evenings you will learn more about wine tasting and the characteristics of wine. Also about the most important grape varieties, geographical location, wine tasting and assessment, etc.

The Wine Certificate course is for novice wine lovers and professionals. In five evenings you will be introduced to the most important wine regions and learn the most important techniques of wine tasting. You will taste more than forty wines throughout the course: your wine knowledge will increase and you will learn more and more wine terms.

The Wine Certificate course is suitable for wine enthusiasts with reasonable wine knowledge and for professionals who work with wine. Due to the high level, we recommend that you first take the Basic Wine Course (SDEN 2). If you want to test your wine knowledge in advance, take our wine tests for beginners or advanced students. After the course you will have extensive knowledge of wine and wine tasting. Over the entire course you will taste more than seventy wines and learn about various wine matters: from the origin of wine to how to make good wine and food combinations.
